MKMA delegation comprising of 50 participants visited the Shanghai region on 8-14 December 2003. The group visited Shanghai, Wuxi, Suzhou and Wujiang and was warmly hosted by officers from the said regions. The main objective of the tour is to visit the industrial estate and understand the development and regulations. We witnessed tha amazing development of the “World Factory”.
We visited 3 industrial parks namely Xishan, Meichun New District and Wujiang Industrial Area on the first 3 days. All the industrial parks were well designed with infrastructures including land, sea and air transports, electricity suppliers, water, energy, waste-treatment, tele-communications, public utilities etc. Many worldwide companies have already invested in the areas. We also visited some textile and garment factories. Besides briefing, the group were being hosted with sumptuous food by the local authorities.
On 12 December 2003, the group visited the 10th Shanghaitex. It’s a big textile machinery show with about 1,300 exhibitors from 48 countries. The exhibition attracted 121,845 visitors. We noticed that China textile machinery industry is also sprouting out.
Of course, our itinerary included sightseeing to all the attractions and landmarks in the region.
