Pakistan textile exports witnessed a growth of 0.41 per cent
in the first 4 months of the present financial year (July to
October) compared to what it was during the same period in
July to October 2018 saw Pakistan exporting textile products
worth US $ 4.407 billion whereas the numbers were US $ 4.389
billion during the same period in 2017.
Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, in its recently released
data, explained that raw cotton exports decreased by 71.5
per cent in the current financial year whereas cotton yarn
and cotton cloth exports slumped by 11.19 and 0.25 per cent,
The country witnessed the knitwear and bedwear exports surge
by 10.41 and 2.10 per cent, respectively, during the same
period. Readymade garment exports too saw an increase of
0.63 per cent during the same period.
Pakistan earned US $ 962.81 million by exporting 39,880
thousand dozen of knitwear in the first four months of 2018
whereas during the same period of 2017, the country exported
34,061 thousand dozen knitwear and earned US $ 872.01
Notably, the overall exports from Pakistan during
July-October of 2018 increased by 3.48 per cent.
