With a major increase in the number of Swedish retailers selling used clothing, Kappahl Group is moving forward with the next steps in its expansion. The idea is also being introduced in the Finnish Kappahl stores.
Kappahl launched secondhand collections at 10 stores throughout the Finnish market beginning at the end of September and continuing into early October. During the fall, there will be 35 Swedish retailers selling used goods, up from 16 at the beginning.
“We see a lot of potential and a lot of enthusiasm from our clients in finding new favourites and bringing in their old clothing to Kappahl. Because of this, we are expanding our store count considerably. This means that more than 20% of our stores in Sweden and Finland will now sell used goods, according to Viktoria Arndt, Sales & Business Development Manager at Kappahl Group.
In addition to this growth, Kappahl is implementing a number of enhancements that will help both patrons and store staff. These consist of automatic customer bonus point registration, streamlined price tagging, and improved goods drop-off procedures.
With 51 locations around the Nordic region and four in the United Kingdom, where Kappahl’s brand Newbie is available, the Kappahl Group currently offers secondhand sales in four of its five physical retail marketplaces. Both British consumers and staff have embraced the UK Newbie stores’ decision to offer used goods under the “PreLoved” label since May.
