Uniqlo expands UK footprint with three new store openings

Japanese apparel retailer Uniqlo is strengthening its presence in the United Kingdom with confirmation of three new store openings.

The first will open on 16th October at Birmingham’s Bullring Shopping Centre, spanning three floors and offering the full range of womenswear, menswear, kidswear and babywear. To mark the launch, Uniqlo will partner with local organisations for a month-long series of events, including workshops hosted by Girls On The Go Birmingham.

Building on the momentum of its Liverpool store, which opened in April, the brand also plans to open two further sites in 2026. A 1,360 square metre two-storey location will debut in Bristol’s Cabot Circus, marking Uniqlo’s first entry into the Southwest of England, while a 1,100 square metre store will be established on Briggate shopping street in Leeds.

Alessandro Dudech, Chief Operating Officer of Uniqlo UK, said the new stores highlighted the company’s commitment to expanding its footprint in the British market through both its physical network and e-commerce channels.

Uniqlo currently operates 21 stores across the UK, with the European market continuing to perform strongly for parent company Fast Retailing. The group reported significantly higher revenue and rising profits in the third quarter of the current financial year, noting that sales at newly opened stores had also proved robust.
