Spanish textile-recycling specialist Recover, renowned for its production of recycled cotton fibres, is stepping up operations and moving into the commercialisation of finished fabrics and garments. The move is intended to “democratise” access to low-environmental-impact materials across the fashion and textile industry, the company said in a statement.
Recover has launched two new business lines: “Recover Fabrics”, a range of finished textiles made from its patented recycled cotton fibres, and “Recover Blanks”, an unbranded line of basic garments available to brands of all sizes. The “Recover Fabrics” collection comprises more than fifty individual fabrics across four product lines: The Elite Collection (premium fabrics developed with Portuguese manufacturer TMG), The Premier Collection (flatweaves made in collaboration with Spanish firm Textil Santanderina), The Core Collection (basic fabrics for items such as sweatshirts and T-shirts) and the Essential Denim Collection (lower-impact denim for jeans and jackets).
In announcing the strategy, Recover’s Chief Executive Anders Sjöblom stressed that the initiative went beyond a typical product launch, “Recover Fabrics is not just another product launch; it is about helping brands make sustainability the easiest choice without compromising on quality.” He added that the company “recently developed a high-end bespoke suit with drastically lower water and carbon consumption and a quality that will make it last for years.”
On the “Recover Blanks” line of finished garments, Sjöblom noted the company aimed “to further drive the adoption of recycled cotton fibres” by offering “a collection of unbranded, ready-to–use basics”. The line covers items such as T-shirts, sweatshirts, jumpers and tracksuits, and is designed for brands seeking quicker access to sustainable basics.
Recover said the shift into finished fabrics and garments represented “a giant step” in its mission to close the fashion loop. With these two verticals, the company claims to provide a traceable, scalable, low-impact solution that tackles industry-wide challenges such as supply-chain complexity, certification burdens and inconsistent quality standards.
By broadening its offering to both large retail chains and small emerging brands, Recover intends to make high-quality recycled-cotton fabrics accessible across the full spectrum of the fashion industry. The company’s vision is to combine “rational commercial value with premium recycled materials, inspiring fashion brands to create quickly, creatively and sustainably.”
