Loop Industries, a clean technology company driving the circular economy, has entered into a multi-year offtake agreement with global sportswear giant Nike, Inc. Under the agreement, Loop will supply Twist, its virgin-quality circular polyester resin derived entirely from textile waste, making Nike the anchor customer for the Infinite Loop India manufacturing facility, currently under construction in partnership with Ester Industries.
The collaboration represents a major milestone in Loop’s commercialisation strategy and underscores Nike’s continued commitment to sustainable innovation. Twist, a textile-to-textile recycled polyester resin, will help reduce the use of both virgin and recycled flake polyester across Nike’s product portfolio.
The Infinite Loop India facility is expected to deliver substantial environmental benefits compared to fossil fuel–based polyester. The plant is projected to achieve an 81% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and generate annual savings of up to 418,600 tonnes of CO₂ emissions.
All products made using Twist will include full traceability, enabled by Loop’s proprietary chemical tracer technology, providing Nike with verifiable proof of recycled content.
Nike’s Vice President of Materials Supply Chain, Sitora Muzafarova, stated that the agreement marked a significant step towards transforming textile waste into high-performance materials. She added that the partnership with Loop reflects Nike’s focus on scaling sustainable solutions that combine environmental responsibility with product excellence.
Daniel Solomita, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Loop Industries, described the agreement as a major milestone for both the company and the Infinite Loop India project. He said Nike’s commitment served as a powerful validation of Loop’s strategy to deliver a verifiable textile-to-textile polyester resin and advance circular fashion for global apparel customers.
Arvind Singhania, Chairman of Ester Industries Limited, welcomed the partnership, noting that it reflected Nike’s confidence in Ester’s capacity to deliver high-performance, verified recycled materials at scale. He added that working with Nike aligned with Ester’s vision of supporting leading brands in achieving their global sustainability goals.
The partnership is expected to accelerate the commercial adoption of circular polyester solutions while reinforcing both companies’ roles in building a sustainable and traceable textile ecosystem.
