Brazil cotton exports hit record despite slower trade pace

Brazilian cotton exports reached record levels over the past 12 months, driven mainly by strong shipments to China, according to the Center for Advanced Studies on Applied Economics. However, trade momentum slowed in mid-April despite high cumulative volumes.

Exports totaled 3.03 million tons in the last year, slightly above 2025 levels, while March shipments rose sharply year-on-year. Domestic prices remained firm amid weak demand, and production forecasts show mixed trends with slightly lower yields but stable output growth expected.
