Europe textile sector faces continued decline warns Euratex

The Euratex has warned that Europe is steadily losing its textile and clothing industry after the sector recorded a third consecutive year of decline in production, turnover, and employment.

The industry body has urged the European Union to take immediate action to support manufacturers facing mounting pressures, including high energy costs, increasing regulatory burdens, and what it describes as unfair competition from online platforms.

Euratex stressed that without targeted policy support from Brussels, the region’s textile industry risks further erosion, impacting jobs and long-term industrial competitiveness.
