Myanmar’s apparel exports fell 21.1% year on year during January to September 2026, as declining shipments to Europe and North America reshaped the country’s export market, according to Fibre2Fashion’s TexPro data.
Europe remained Myanmar’s largest regional apparel market, accounting for 53.57% of exports, but shipments to the region dropped 25.1%. Meanwhile, Asia-Pacific’s share increased to 36.18%, reflecting its relative resilience despite a decline in export value.
Japan was Myanmar’s largest apparel export destination during the period, followed by Germany, Poland, South Korea and Italy. The changing market distribution highlights Myanmar’s growing reliance on Asian buyers as demand from traditional Western markets weakens.
