Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals has introduced a new Chemical Watchlist to help brands and suppliers identify substances of concern as regulatory pressure on chemical transparency increases.
The tool is designed to complement ZDHC’s Manufacturing Restricted Substances List, which already guides the industry on banned chemicals in textile and footwear production.
While the initiative aims to address gaps in upcoming EU disclosure requirements, some industry experts warn that the broad scope of the watchlist may create confusion around risk prioritization for manufacturers and brands.
